#TheAltWithMel began out of necessity. Upon moving to New York City and breaking into the industry Melvin began The Alternative in a studio apartment thus beginning his path. The name comes from listening to ‘B Side’ records and enjoying them more than the ‘A Side’ as well as having the freedom to play music he felt should be highlighted versus songs constantly heard on the charts.
